So, let's begin the story of Cliff's Life and career.
It was Monday the 14th of October, 1940 when Harry Rodger Webb (Cliff) was born in King George Hospital, Victoria Street, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was born to Anglo-Indian parents Rodger Oscar Webb and Dorothy Marie Webb (nee Dazely).
We will talk about Cliff’s parents more in another post, but here is a short background to his parents. Let's start with his father, Rodger Oscar Webb. Rodger Oscar Webb was born on the 23 December, 1904 at Tramway Quarters, Yangon, Rangoon, Myanmar (Burma) (Myanmar). He was one of eleven children.
Cliff's mother, Dorothy Marie Webb, was born on the 13 August 1920, to William Edward Dazely and Dorothy Edith Dazely (Bridgwater) in Tundla, Bengal.
Cliff spent the first 7 years of his life in India before leaving with his family, and travelling to England in 1948.
Little did anyone know, on this day, a star was born.
